BREAKING NEWS: Oceania Rugby has Canceled the Oceania Rugby 7s Cup in Rotorua
Shortly after recently announcing the event, Oceania has now announced they were unable to secure all the funding needed to host the event.
American Samoa Talavalu and Segaula 7s teams were not scheduled to compete in the Cup, but were notified they are expected to compete in the companion tournament, the 7s Challenger. This is based on their finishes in the lower-tier during the 2024 Oceania 7s competition. However, details have not been released for the 7s Challenge Cup, which is anticipated in 2027.
Our work with the Amerika Samoa Rugby Union continues as we are laser-focused on supporting the Segaula and the Talavalu to compete at their highest level at the 2027 Pacific Games in Tahiti!
